Brazil - DBarbosa's Juice

Juicy & Invigorating - Raoní, Brazil | SCA Score: 88.75

Raoní is an exceptional coffee from the Cerrado Mineiro region of Brazil, cultivated at Waterfall Farm, nestled at 1,130 meters in the Carmo do Paranaíba and Serra do Salitre micro-terroir. This Red Catuaí coffee is a true representation of Brazil’s finest specialty coffees, boasting prestigious certifications such as Cerrado Mineiro Region Certification, Rainforest Alliance, 4C, and Starbucks approval.

What sets Raoní apart is its meticulous anaerobic fermentation process, where the coffee undergoes 70 hours of controlled fermentation, followed by 31 days of dry fermentation on a suspended patio. This careful processing enhances its complexity, density, and refined flavor profile, resulting in an exceptional cup that stands out among Brazil’s best.

The name "Raoní", derived from the Tupi-Guarani language, symbolizes a champion and a great warrior, reflecting the relentless pursuit of excellence that defines this coffee. Over the past six years, Raoní has consistently ranked among the Cup of Excellence finalists, winning multiple national and regional quality awards, including the Cup of Excellence title in 2021—a testament to its extraordinary craftsmanship and superior quality.

Tasting Notes:

A coffee bursting with vivid red fruit flavors, highlighted by strawberry and guaraná, with a bright acidity and a dense, velvety body. The finish is long and complex, leaving a lingering caramel and citrus aftertaste, making Raoní a true champion in Brazilian specialty coffee.
