Daviwa Estate is a family-run farm led by David Waweru Kinyanjui and his family. Positioned at elevations between 1,750 and 1,800 meters above sea level, the farm benefits from the rich, red volcanic soils and the cool, stable climate near the Aberdare range. This unique location, in the coffee–tea transition zone of Komothai ward, creates ideal conditions for cultivating exceptional coffee.
The Daviwa team practices meticulous care at every stage. Only the ripest red cherries are hand-picked and processed the same day through traditional washed processing. After pulping, the coffee is fermented overnight, thoroughly washed, and then soaked before being carefully dried on raised tables to a moisture level of 10–10.5%. This dedication to detail enhances the coffee’s clarity and vibrant profile.
Crafted from a blend of prized Kenyan varieties — SL28, Batian, and Ruiru 11 — this lot offers a stunning expression of Kenyan terroir. With an SCA score of 87.5, it promises an exceptional cup quality for both filter and espresso brews.
Tasting Notes:
A lively and complex cup, with juicy blueberry brightness, silky caramel sweetness, and a crisp finish of lemon acidity. Perfect for those seeking the bold, fruit-forward character of Kenyan coffees.
