Floral, chocolate, honey
The beans from Colombia's Huila region are grown at altitudes ranging from 1600 to 2000 meters above sea level. They are carefully handpicked from small farms, especially in the municipality of Pitalito, which is renowned for its ideal microclimate, perfect for producing high-quality specialty coffee.
The decaffeination process using the natural sugar process, is carried out in Descafecol, where the beans are treated with mountain spring water and naturally occurring Ethyl Acetate (EA), derived from sugar cane. This method ensures that the coffee retains its natural structure and characteristics without the use of synthetic chemicals or harsh processing.
With an SCA Cupping Score of 84.25, this coffee offers a smooth, sweet, and balanced profile, making it indistinguishable from its caffeinated counterparts in terms of flavor. The careful decaffeination process maintains the coffee's richness and complexity, making it a perfect choice for those seeking a satisfying decaf option.
Roaster's Comments: Decaf has come a long way, and this coffee is proof. Its chocolatey, nutty flavors are so rich and satisfying that even caffeine lovers would struggle to spot the difference in a blind taste test. This coffee delivers all the flavor without the caffeine kick and wonβt disappoint.
Tasting Notes: Floral enzymatic fragrance with a chocolate base, floral and honey notes. The cup is sweet, smooth, and balanced, with a mellow body and medium acidity.
