Earl Grey, jasmine, lemon, peach
Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, the Aricha area is celebrated for its high-altitude coffee farms that sit at 1,950 meters above sea level. Known worldwide for producing premium coffees, Yirgacheffe’s unique elevation and climate yield smaller beans packed with intense flavors.
The coffee farms in this region are typically small, around 1 to 2 hectares, and are cultivated organically, intercropped with fruit trees like mangoes, papayas, and African plums. The hardworking Gedeo people, who follow a primarily vegan lifestyle, oversee the coffee production, celebrating the end of the harvest season with Darraro, a vibrant cultural festival.
The Aricha coffee is processed at the Mulugeta Tsige washing station, where the fully washed process is used to bring out the clean and complex notes in each bean. The result is a Grade 1 coffee from local Ethiopian landraces, carefully processed to preserve its distinct characteristics.
With an SCA Cupping Score of 89, this coffee highlights the exceptional qualities of Yirgacheffe coffee, especially when roasted for espresso.
Tasting Notes: Delicate notes of Earl Grey, jasmine, lemon, and peach, create a fragrant and refreshing cup.
