Los Encinos Guazpo is a remarkable coffee from Santiago de Puringla, Honduras, cultivated with passion by Luha and Issel, two sisters who come from a long line of coffee producers. In a region where the coffee industry has traditionally been dominated by men, they have defied cultural norms to establish themselves as key figures in their community.
Grown at elevations between 1,700 and 1,800 meters, this coffee thrives in the region’s rich volcanic soil and high-altitude climate, which enhances its sweetness, body, and complexity. The farm cultivates a mix of Catuaí, Typica, and IH90 varieties, each contributing to the cup’s balance and richness.
Using the natural processing method, the cherries are carefully dried with the fruit intact, allowing the beans to develop deep, berry-like sweetness and a smooth, creamy texture. Luha and Issel are not only dedicated to producing high-quality coffee but also have ambitious plans for the future, including opening a local roastery and coffee shop, further strengthening their role in the Honduran coffee industry.
A bold yet smooth coffee with lush red berry notes, complemented by rich chocolate undertones and a creamy, velvety body. Its natural sweetness and balanced profile make it a delightful and comforting cup, showcasing the dedication and craftsmanship of Luha and Issel.
