Dark chocolate, brown sugar, hibiscus, plum
Grown in the mountainous region of Cajamarca, Peru, between 1200 and 1900 meters above sea level, this coffee is produced by 223 female members of the Cosecha de Mujer, a dedicated group within the Prosperidad de Chirinos cooperative.
The cooperative, certified organic, empowers women farmers by providing training in leadership, farming techniques, and small-scale business management, all aimed at reducing gender inequalities.
Through the Fully Washed process, these farmers produce high-quality coffee while also engaging in food farming for added self-sufficiency and income.
The coffee is a mix of Bourbon, Catimor, Catuai, and Caturra varietals, carefully processed to bring out its rich flavors. With an SCA Cupping Score of 85, this coffee is a testament to the hard work and expertise of the women involved, each cup supporting not only quality but also equality within the coffee industry. The cooperative also includes a premium of $15 per 69kg bag that directly benefits the Cosecha de Mujer program.
Tasting Notes: A smooth blend of dark chocolate and brown sugar, highlighted with hints of hibiscus and plum, creating a balanced, rich cup with medium acidity and body.
