At Alta, coffee is more than just a beverage – it’s a passion, a ritual, and a connection that brings people together.

Our journey into the world of specialty coffee began in Wellington, New Zealand, where we, Pavla and Patrik, discovered and immersed ourselves in its rich culture.
It was there that we truly fell in love with the craft, learning about diverse flavors, brewing methods, and the incredible community surrounding specialty coffee.

Ever since we moved to Portugal, we’ve been having conversations about specialty coffee.
We talked with our friends and family, passionately explaining how specialty coffee shaped us began forming ideas for bringing more awareness and better accessibility to others in Portugal.
Ideas started piling up, and we talked, wrote, talked again, and rewrote, especially during our evenings enjoying views of the bay in São Martinho do Porto. Bit by bit, the project slowly came together, and now we are very excited to share the result of our work with you.

We created Alta believing that knowing the story behind the coffee makes it more enjoyable and meaningful.
In today’s world, where mass production often overshadows quality and fairness, we believe in the right to know and choose accordingly. By focusing on where our coffee comes from, we ensure ethical treatment of workers, reduce our environmental footprint, and provide transparency in a world that needs it.
