Grown between 1,300 and 2,000 MASL across the diverse landscapes of Western Uganda, Engeya is produced by smallholder farmers cultivating the SL14 variety. Cherries are selectively handpicked and delivered to local washing stations, where they are carefully sorted and processed using the washed method to ensure clarity and consistency in the cup.
This coffee reflects both the region’s varied terroir—from the Rwenzori mountains to the surrounding plains—and a supply chain focused on fairness, where farmers receive stable pricing for quality cherry regardless of delivery point.
In the cup, it offers a smooth and structured profile, combining notes of brown sugar and stone fruit with a gentle raspberry brightness. Subtle black tea characteristics and a light citrus lift bring balance and a clean finish.
Tasting Notes: Brown sugar, stone fruit, raspberry, black tea, and lemon, with a balanced body and soft acidity.
