Bright and Caramel Sweet – Guatemala Coffee
This Guatemala coffee is grown at 2,000 MASL on Finca San José Poaquil in the mountainous region of Chimaltenango. Produced by José Israel Morales Tubac, it represents his first international release under his own name, highlighting the potential of smallholder producers from this high-altitude area.
Cultivated from Bourbon and Caturra varieties and processed using the washed method, the cherries are carefully harvested and fermented before drying, resulting in a clean and well-defined cup. The high elevation and cool mountain climate contribute to clarity, brightness, and balanced sweetness.
With an SCA score of 85.5, this coffee offers a structured and expressive profile suitable for both espresso and filter.
Tasting Notes: Glazed orange, caramel, and lemon, with lively citrus sweetness and a smooth body.
