Milk Chocolate, Brown Sugar, Blueberry, Lime
From the highlands of Kiambu County at 1,700 meters, Sarkin Estate is a Kenyan specialty coffee farm known for its exceptional quality and careful cultivation. Benefiting from rich red volcanic soils and a stable climate, the estate produces coffees with clarity, sweetness, and vibrant character.
Owned by Edwin Gichi Kinyanjui, a second-generation farmer, Sarkin Estate produces around 12 tons annually. Coffee cherries are handpicked, pulped, and fully washed, fermenting for 12–16 hours before drying on raised beds for up to 14 days. This traditional washed process ensures clean flavors and consistent quality.
The farm also cultivates papaya, avocado, and banana trees, enhancing biodiversity and sustainability while enriching the environment around the coffee plants.
SCA Cupping Score: 86
Tasting Profile: Sweet milk chocolate and brown sugar with bright blueberry fruit and a refreshing lime acidity. Balanced, juicy, and complex in the cup.
